Magic for Both Sides of Your Brain

Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. ~Roald Dahl

IllusionDo you believe in Magic? I do. But whether you do or not, this amazing performance by Technoillusinist Marco Tempest is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Regular visitors to IGG know I’ve been a fan of Marco’s for a long time, so this isn’t the first of his TED Talk performance I’ve shared here.

Adventurer, scientist, showman and dreamer … his imaginative combination of computer-generated imagery, video, music and stagecraft with his unique vision of future life is creatively unique and unequalled within the performing arts.

No one else combines the incredible technical savvy with the showmanship, the physical skills and the charisma of Tempest. With all that talent, it’s amazing that he seems to enjoy poking fun at himself, and of course there are all those marvelous toys! Marco gets a kick out of bending reality around the edges. Is that image in the screen, or just in front of it?

Each performance is unique, and often jaw dropping … his cyber-magic card trick is no exception.

Did you know the suits, numbers and colors in a deck of cards correspond to the seasons, moon cycles and calendar? In this brief TED Talk, Tempest does a card trick like you’ve never seen before, weaving a lyrical tale as he deals.

Marco Tempest’s work is constantly changing: as new technologies evolve. If you’d like to learn more about his work, or receive his newsletter, please visit his website at http://www.marcotempest.com/

    Hi Marquitta,

that was an awesome video you shared, I enjoyed it very much.
It combined the ‘magic’ of technology and Marco’s clever talent.

The quote by Roald Dahl says it all.

We can be open to the magic all around us.
